Devotions & Sex
How many times do you base your spiritual life on whether or not you had a "quiet time" with God that day? While those devotions are very important they are what christianity is all about.
In most Christian's regular day (mine included) they will; 1. wake up 2. go to work school 3. fill the rest of the day with other "activities" 4. go to bed. Some time, usually right when you get up or right before bed, you sqeeze in some time with God. Again there is no problem with the short devotion before bed, but where is God the rest of the day? If the Christian life speaks only to these quiet times and FAITH on monday night, then it does not address most of our lives. If life includes more than prayer, bible reading, and evangelism. Then the Christian life must include more as well. Let's compare that to I dunno... sex.
These Christian acts are to a christian, what sex is to a marriage. Sex is probably the high point of marrage. Who am i kiddin? it is the high point of a marriage. but in the back of our minds we know that marriage is alot more than sex. Marriages work when both people support each other in all areas. The Christian's succeed when they honor God in all aspects of their lives. This is exactly why every Christian needs to develope a "christian world view".
We must learn to think Christianly about everything in our lives. As a Christian what should we think about; Brushing our teeth, playing sports, watching "Family Guy", Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, lawn work, and anything else that we come across daily.
Luckily at Cedarville I am getting an oppurtunity work at this daily in my classes and activities. Part of Cedarville's mission statement is to equip each student with a "Christian World View" and a Bible minor. In the near future... right now, Work on your developement of a "Christian World View". Also don't base your marriage on sex, i mean don't base your Christianity on your "quiet time". Live life to the fullest and include God in on all the fun.

Brandon...Your point in this post is a strong one. I always summed up that particular thought this way..."Don't limit God to your quiet time." I think you nailed it, bro.
I can't think of anything funny to say about the sex part of the post...and by funny I mean appropriate.
Nailed it!
Good point. Intersting that you paired the thought with SEX. Despite not being married (nor I) I think you coupled the example quite well. The Christian life is meant to be LIVED OUT! -thanks for keeping peeps in the mindset.
Truth.
Its easy to get into a routine of school, work, sports, etc. You made a good point with this one. Thanks.
